A Little History About Dunnville
Dunnville is an urban area with a population of 5,789. Dunnville was established in 1974 as a town in the Regional Municipality of Haldimand-Norfolk from the former townships of Canborough. There area a number of small communities that existed within the town’s boundaries including Attercliffe Station, Canborough, Moulton Station, Byng, Lowbanks, Stromness and Port Maitland. In 2001, the regional municipality was abolished and the local municipalities of Dunnville, Haldimand and part of Nanticoke were amalgamated into the single-tier authority of the town of Haldimand (now the city of Haldimand County). It is located on the Lower Grand River near where it meets Lake Erie, the original Dunnville was initiated in 1829. Dunnville grew as a focal point in the evolving road network. A milling district developed between the feeder canal and the river, and Dunnville expanded as a port on both the Grand River and the Welland Canal. Incorporated as a village in 1860 and as a town in 1900, Dunnville attracted textile industries but remains a service centre for a rural mixed farming and lakeside summer cottage area.

When loading the Bin we recommend that you take your time to strategize the placement of the items to make sure all you garbage fits. We recommend loading all the heavier items towards the front of the bin so the weight inside the bin gets distributed evenly. When you are almost done filling up the bin make sure to leave enough room so the double barn doors close properly and also to make sure nothing is sticking up past the top of the bin. Nothing shall be sticking up past our “FILL LINE” stickers that are placed on both sides of the bin and on the back of the bin. Result of an overloaded bin may mean that the driver will be unable to take the bin away in a safe manner and will leave the bin on site until its loaded properly and safely to be taken away. This would result in a $75.00 fee.
